Mobeen Akhtar

Adult & Child Practitioner

With a strong commitment to the LGBTQ+ community, I have gained diverse experiences working with individuals of all ages in a compassionate and constructive manner. One of my passions is facilitating effective communication skills, which I believe are essential in the therapeutic process. As a therapist, I have supported both long-term and short-term clients who have faced challenges impacting their overall well-being. My aim is to provide effective support by utilizing communication skills to build therapeutic relationships and establish healthy alliances.

In addition to my experience with clients from various ethnic backgrounds, I am also fluent in Urdu, enabling me to interact with clients from diverse age groups, backgrounds, and concerns. This linguistic capability allows me to cater to the unique needs of individuals seeking therapy.

I am deeply passionate about my role as a therapist and I invite both children and adults to embark on a journey of self-discovery and enhanced understanding. My therapeutic approach is rooted in an Integrative model, with person-centered theory at its core. I often draw on attachment theory and gestalt principles to inform my practice. When working with children, I incorporate play, art, and fun into the sessions to promote their communication skills and create a comfortable space for them to explore their thoughts and feelings.

I am dedicated to providing a safe and inclusive environment where LGBTQ+ individuals can freely express themselves and explore their unique experiences. Your self-worth and personal growth are of utmost importance to me.

Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions or would like to schedule a session. I am excited about the opportunity to support you on your journey towards self-discovery and empowerment.

Cat Keeler

Young Adult & Child Practitioner

Hello, I’m Catherine Keeler, a passionate child therapist dedicated to helping children and young adults up to the age of 25 navigate the challenges of life. I’m a relaxed, positive, and fun-loving individual who values the power of listening and fostering relationships. My mission as a child therapist is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space where every individual’s voice can be heard.

I hold a foundation degree in person-centered counseling, which equips me with the knowledge and skills needed to connect with and support young minds. During my academic journey, I had the privilege of completing my placement with Manchester Minds, where I had the opportunity to work with a diverse range of children and young adults, both with and without additional needs.

In my role at Manchester Minds, I gained valuable experience working with individuals facing various emotional challenges. I supported young people coping with anxiety and depression, helped them navigate the complex emotions associated with grief and loss, and provided guidance to those dealing with abuse, including self-harm. This experience has reinforced my commitment to helping young individuals overcome their struggles and find happiness within themselves.

Beyond my formal training, I bring over 20 years of experience working with children and young people in educational settings. This includes working with children as young as 2 years old, both in mainstream and specialized educational environments. This background has provided me with a deep understanding of the unique needs and challenges that children and young adults face as they grow and develop.
